NEC Approves Development Budget of Rs3669b for Next FY

Islamabad: The National Economic Council has unanimously approved a national development budget of 3,669 billion rupees for the next fiscal year.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Council, which met in Islamabad with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the chair, allocated 1,000 billion rupees for the Federal Public Sector Development Programme, 2,218 billion for the Annual Provincial Development Programme, and 451 billion for State-Owned Enterprises.

The Council also approved a 3.7 percent growth rate for Gross Domestic Product for the current fiscal year and set a target of four percent for the next fiscal year.

The meeting was also briefed on the performance of the Central Development Working Party and the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council during the period from April 2025 to March 2026.
