Our people displaced because of Zarb-e-Azb is number one issue and we will do our level best to help them: Prime Minister

Islamabad, July 04, 2014 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that “for us helping our people displaced because of Zarb-e-Azb is number one issue and we will do our level best to help them”. We will make sure that after the operation the displaced person are brought back and rehabilitated with honor, added the Prime Minister.

He said this while chairing a meeting that was attended by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmed, Finance Minister Mr. Ishaq Dar, Minister for State and Frontier Regions Lt. Gen. ® Abdul Qadir Baloch, Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbassi and Minister Information Senator Pervaiz Rashid at PM House Islamabad today.

Minister SAFRON Lt. Gen. ® Abdul Qadir Baloch briefed the Prime Minister regarding present situation of Waziristan IDPs. Minister SAFRON updated that in order to get first hand information, he himself visited distribution points and met local elders.

He further said that till yesterday (Thursday 3rd July, 2014) 566,000 people have been registered as IDPs. Camps are being well managed and there is no load-shedding, added the Minister SAFRON. Lt. Gen. Abdul Qadir Baloch further briefed that polio vaccination is being effectively administered to the IDPs.

Moreover, he said that Cash distribution is being made in most transparent manner and from 8th July onward payment will be made through mobile cash transfers. Finance Minister Mr. Ishaq Dar briefed the meeting that ECC has approved 60,000 tons of wheat costing Rs. 2.8 billion for distribution to IDPs.
