Pak-China Relations Poised for Strengthening, Says Minister

Islamabad: The Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and China. Speaking at an event in Islamabad celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year and Spring Festival, Tarar emphasized the government’s dedication to fostering this vital diplomatic bond.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tarar highlighted the significance of the Pak-China friendship, describing it as profound and enduring. He underscored the government’s role as a steward of this relationship, with plans to pass this legacy on to future generations. Tarar also expressed Islamabad’s support for President Xi Jinping’s One Belt, One Road initiative, which aligns with Pakistan’s economic interests.

The event also featured remarks from the Minister for Maritime Affairs, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, who spoke on the potential economic benefits of relocating Chinese industry to Pakistan. He noted the government’s focus on technical education to support business growth, mirroring China’s successful model. Sheikh further highlighted Pakistan’s maritime potential and the government’s commitment to developing the Gwadar Port through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
