Pak, Iran pledge stronger bonds through Hajj, religious tourism

Pakistan and Iran have pledged to further enhance cooperation in facilitating pilgrims and promoting religious tourism.

Radio Pakistan’s correspondent Javed Iqbal reports from Saudi Arabia that the resolve was expressed during a meeting betweeen Minister for Religious Affairs Talha Mehmood and Iran’s Minister for Pilgrimage and Ziaraat Syed Fateh Nawab in Makkah.

Speaking on the occasion, Talha Mehmood said the Memorandum of Understanding regarding Ziaraat of sacred places in Iran has been sent to Iranian Embassy in Pakistan.

He expressed his utmost desire for the MoU to evolve into a formal agreement, aiming to foster an enriching cultural exchanges between the two countries.

The Iranian Minister highlighted his country’s role in hosting and assisting Zaireen on their journey to Iraq.

He assured to provide further facilities to the Zaireen after the finalization of the memorandum of understanding.
