Pakistan Advocates for Greater Information Integrity on Digital Platforms at U.N.

New York, Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, has called for enhanced information integrity on digital platforms. Speaking at the final Interactive Dialogue on the Code of Conduct for Information Integrity on Digital Platforms, Ambassador Jadoon emphasized the need to combat disinformation and fake news to protect human rights and ensure equitable access to digital resources.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Jadoon addressed the critical importance of safeguarding the rights of people under foreign occupation, condemning censorship and internet blackouts used by occupying forces to spread misinformation and discredit legitimate freedom movements. Additionally, he highlighted the challenges of the digital divide in developing countries like Pakistan, stressing the necessity for investment in infrastructure and capacity-building programs to improve digital literacy and access.
