Pakistan Consumer’s Federation elect Chairman and Secretary General for Year 2014-15

Karachi, April 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): In an extra ordinary meeting of governing body members of Pakistan Consumer’s Federation (PCF) presided over by Mr. Hamid Maker, unanimously elected its first Chairman and Secretary General for the Year 2014-2015.

Mr. Kaukab Iqbal elected as Chairman and Shaikh Rashid Alam as Secretary General respectively for year 2014-2015. New Chairman will soon announce the other portfolio of the Federation to complete the Management body of Pakistan Consumer’s Federation (PCF) for the year 2014-2015.

Meeting held in Help Line Trust office at DHA Karachi presided over by Mr. Hamid Maker of Help Line Trust who conducted the proceedings. Elected Chairman assured governing body members that he will run the federation with the consensus of all the members and consumer right protection will be his first priority.

He further affirmed that that he will never let violators of consumer rights in large and quick respond to be taken against these activities. Governing body members hails newly elected Chairman Kaukab Iqbal’s commitment and assured their full support in all means. Having discussion after election process, governing body members unanimously decided to dissolve the Ad-Hoc committee after electing its main office bearers.

This is also decided that Pakistan Consumers’ Federation (PCF) delegation soon will meet Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif respectively regarding the grim situation of Consumer Right violations in Pakistan. PCF Governing body Members also endorsed the minutes of meeting with Commissioner Karachi.

PCF members, including Mr. Hamid Maker of Helpline Trust Mr. Kaukab Iqbal chairman Consumer Association of Pakistan (CAP), Mr. Umar Ghauri Chairman The Consumers Eye Pakistan (TCEP), Sheikh Rashid Alam Chairman Consumer Foundation and representatives of, Consumer Forum and Pakistan Consumers Bureau were present on the occasion. PCF coordinator Air commodore Inamullah Khan was also present on occasion.

Governing body members hailed the newly elected Chairman Mr. Kaukab Iqbal and Shaikh Rashid Alam Secretary General’s election and showed their full trust in them. They all congratulated him and assured their full support for the cause what for Pakistan Consumer’s Federation (PCF) established. Meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to Mr. Hamid Maker for his serious efforts and hospitality extended for the other governing body members attended the meeting.
