Washington DC, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, announced an easing of the visa regime to better facilitate religious tourism, particularly for the Sikh community, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to respecting and accommodating religious sentiments.
According to Embassy of Pakistan – Washington D.C, Ambassador Khan made these remarks during a meeting with members of the American Punjabi Society, led by President Gary Sikka. The society, which represents a hundred thousand Punjabi Sikh members, including those from Pakistan, plans to send a delegation of 115 people to visit significant religious sites in Lahore, Faisalabad, Islamabad, and Kartarpur soon.
Members of the delegation shared their positive experiences from previous visits, particularly to Kartarpur, praising the exceptional hospitality of Pakistanis. They also expressed gratitude towards the Pakistani government for its ongoing efforts to ease access to Sikh religious sites.
Ambassador Khan reiterated the Pakistani government’s resolve to continue providing all necessary support to the Sikh community, highlighting recent simplifications in visa policies aimed at enhancing the experience of religious tourists.
