Islamabad: Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain has announced that a new wheat policy will be unveiled within the next couple of weeks, aiming to ensure optimal pricing for farmers. Responding to a question during Question Hour in the Senate today, he expressed confidence that the policy would promote increased wheat cultivation across the country. The Minister further stated that the government has secured the fertilizer supply chain nationwide. In collaboration with provincial authorities, efforts are underway to ensure seed quality through strict enforcement of the Seed Act in the marketplace.
According to Radio Pakistan, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar highlighted Pakistan’s emergence as a significant player on the global stage and in regional politics. He noted that countries around the world are inviting Pakistan, and many are eager to visit Islamabad to strengthen ties. On the issue of Palestine, Tarar mentioned that the State of Palestine has welcomed the mechanism being discussed to resolve the matter and bring peace to the area.
Speaking about the strategic agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, Tarar emphasized that defending the two holy mosques is a profound honor for the 240 million people of Pakistan. Regarding the National Finance Commission Award, he noted that provincial nominations have been finalized, and all decisions within the NFC are made through consensus.
The Senate will now meet on Friday at half past ten in the morning.
