According to Kashmir Media Service, the festivities began early with special prayers after the Fajr prayers, and continued with ceremonial gun salutes—31 in Islamabad and 21 in each provincial capital. Key ceremonies included the changing of the guards at the mausoleums of national heroes Allama Iqbal and Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi. The day is also being illuminated by elaborate displays of lights and fireworks across the country, with national flags prominently displayed.

The highlight of the day’s events is the Independence Parade at the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul, featuring a procession of cadets and a ceremonial flag unfurling at midnight, accompanied by the national anthem and patriotic slogans.
