Pakistan Set to Launch First Indigenous Electro-Optical Satellite

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is poised to make a significant leap in its space program with the launch of its first fully indigenous Electro-Optical Satellite, EO-1, scheduled for today. The satellite, developed by the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, is set to be launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in China.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the EO-1 satellite was designed and developed entirely by Pakistani engineers. The satellite is expected to deliver substantial benefits across multiple sectors, including agriculture, environmental monitoring, urban planning, and disaster management.
