Pakistan Strengthens Maritime Ties with Hutchison Port Hong Kong

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, visited Hutchison Port in Hong Kong to enhance Pakistan’s maritime sector.

According to Press Information Department, the Minister met with Hutchison Port’s Group Managing Director, Eric Ip, and Executive Director Hutchison Pakistan/Gulf, Andy Tsoi, discussing Hutchison’s operations in Pakistan and plans for expansion. The visit focused on the strategic importance of Pakistan’s ports in regional and global trade, and Hutchison Port’s contributions to modernizing the country’s maritime infrastructure.

The partnership between Pakistan’s Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Hutchison Port has led to significant investments in Karachi Port and other facilities, incorporating advanced technologies and services. Mr. Sheikh emphasized Hutchison’s role in economic growth and advancing Pakistan as a regional trade hub, highlighting the collaboration’s potential to boost the national economy and position Pakistan in global commerce. The visit marks Pakistan’s commitment to strategic partnerships to realize the potential of its maritime sector.
