Pakistan takes principled stance on Kashmir dispute: Shawl

London, August 23, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Chief Patron of Kashmir Concern, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl has said that Pakistan has taken a principled stance in the proposed National Security Advisers meeting. Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl addressing an extra-ordinary meeting of the Executives of Kashmir Concern in London said unless India breaks the traditional shells of escaping from the realities the impasse for creating conducive environment for dialogue will remain unrealized.

He elaborated that a pre-requisite to the replacement of mistrust and suspicion is the necessity of promoting humanistic inclusiveness and pluralistic thinking amongst South Asian people. Interacting with Hurriyet leadership is a practice, which has been deemed essential ever since this political platform came into existence, he added.

Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl said support through international facilitation and pragmatism of political leadership in both India and Pakistan is a requisite for a peaceful settlement through dialogue and discussion and interaction as it is through these means that a lasting solution is found for the core issue of Kashmir. The U turn of India took should be brought to notice of the international community. Those who attended the meeting included President Iftikhar Ahmed, Secretary General Sajid Yousaf, Chief Coordinator Sabir Hussain and Secretary Information Saima Haroon. The guest participants included former AJK minister Mahmood Riaz.
