Islamabad: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political and Public Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan, announced that Pakistan’s prudent and professional diplomatic efforts have successfully led to a ceasefire between Iran and the United States. Speaking during a discussion on the evolving regional situation in the Senate, Sanaullah highlighted the widespread recognition that Pakistan has received for these efforts. He emphasized that the ceasefire not only halted ongoing aggression against Iran but also prevented potential devastation in the Muslim world.
According to Radio Pakistan, Sanaullah further mentioned that Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives have also helped in stopping hostilities among Muslim countries. He congratulated the entire national leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and other leaders, for their roles in achieving the ceasefire. The Adviser called on the opposition to convert their protest calls into a day of thanksgiving and to pray for the success of the upcoming Islamabad talks.
Opposition Leader Raja Nasir Abbas welcomed the dialogue set to take place in Islamabad following the ceasefire but cautioned against potential spoilers. Meanwhile, Syed Ali Zafar stressed the importance of a ceasefire, noting its significance not only for Iran and Arab countries but also for the entire Ummah and Pakistan. He warned of Israel’s potential to disrupt the ceasefire and suggested the development of a regional security framework.
Sherry Rehman expressed that the nation is united in support of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for regional peace. She called on the global community to unite in making the ceasefire permanent. Pervaiz Rashid praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team for their efforts in securing the ceasefire.
Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar congratulated Pakistan and highlighted the significance of this achievement in the country’s diplomatic history. He paid tribute to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their roles in securing peace in the region, urging the nation to unite on this path of progress. Kamran Murtaza also commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their significant achievement.
