Palm oil fell for the first time in four days on speculation that a rally to highest level in almost three months was overdone

Karachi, June 19, 2013 (PPI-OT): The stimulus by the Fed still has gold investors waiting. The U.S. Dollar Index, a measure against six major currencies, and global equities were little changed before the Fed ends a two-day meeting today. The U.S. central bank currently buys $85 billion a month of Treasury and mortgage debt.

Rice shipments from Thailand, the second-biggest exporter, are set to increase as the government reduces the price paid to farmers to rein in spending, according to the Thai Rice Exporters Association. Sales may total 7 million metric tons this year and 8 million tons in 2014.

Palm oil fell for the first time in four days on speculation that a rally to the highest level in almost three months was overdone. Exports from Malaysia jumped 18 percent to 709,860 tons in the first 15 days of this month, Intertek said June 15. Shipments gained 16 percent to 707,148 tons in the same period, with exports to Pakistan expanding almost 18 times to 107,650 tons from a month earlier.
