Passenger Assaults Fellow Travelers and Bites Constable on Pune-Delhi Flight

Pune: A disruptive incident occurred on an IndiGo flight from Pune to Delhi at Lohegaon Airport, where a passenger, identified as Surekha Singh, attacked fellow passengers and a security officer. The situation escalated from a dispute over seating, leading to the intervention of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

According to Kashmir Media Service, the flight crew summoned CISF personnel due to Singh’s aggressive behavior over the seat assignments. Constable Priyanka Reddy responded to the call for help but was met with physical violence, including being slapped and bitten by Singh. The altercation led to Singh being restrained and removed from the aircraft, after which she was handed over to the airport police.

A legal case has now been registered against Singh for voluntarily causing hurt and assault. Further details provided by CISF indicate that the confrontation intensified after the pilot decided not to proceed with Singh on board, which resulted in her violent actions during the escort out of the plane.
