PM Directs Immediate Transfer of Oil Price Benefits to Public: Ali Pervaiz

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed to pass on the benefits of declining oil prices in the global market to the people immediately.

According to Radio Pakistan, this directive was highlighted by Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik in a statement on his X handle today.

The Minister for Petroleum announced that a high-level committee has been established to develop a transparent weekly formula for determining the prices of petroleum products. He mentioned that this new formula will be crafted after extensive consultations with all stakeholders. The aim is to ensure that once the formula is in place, the public will be able to comprehend the reasons behind any changes in oil prices.

Ali Pervaiz Malik also emphasized that, despite regional tensions, Pakistan’s oil supply chain has remained uninterrupted. He noted that the government is actively reviewing the energy security framework and is working on a variety of new measures to safeguard the country’s interests and ensure energy security.

Furthermore, the Minister expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and the people of Pakistan for their cooperation during the crisis.
