Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has declared Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to the United States a significant success.
According to Radio Pakistan, in a news conference held in Islamabad, Ishaq Dar highlighted the Prime Minister’s impactful address at the United Nations General Assembly, where he vocally advocated for the rights of oppressed Palestinians and Kashmiris. The address was reportedly recognized and appreciated by numerous Muslim countries, including Turkiye, Egypt, and the Palestinian authority.
The Deputy Prime Minister elaborated that the Pakistani delegation’s visit had two primary objectives: active participation in the United Nations General Assembly and collaboration with Arab and Islamic nations to facilitate a ceasefire in Gaza and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians.
Ishaq Dar noted that during a meeting with US President Donald Trump, a coalition of eight Arab and Islamic nations, comprising Pakistan, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt, collectively voiced their opposition to the ongoing violence in Gaza.
He further mentioned that the group issued a joint statement expressing their commitment to the Palestinian cause, which was later endorsed by the Palestinian authority.
