PM thanks IMF for SBA with Pakistan to support economy

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has expressed gratitude to International Monetary Fund (IMF) for approving three billion dollars Stand-By Agreement to support Pakistan’s economy.

He was talking to IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in New York on the sidelines of 78th UN General Assembly session.

The Prime Minister said strong focus has been placed on protecting the vulnerable segments of society.

The Prime Minister briefed her on various measures taken by the government to stabilize and revive the economy of country.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar affirmed that these initiatives aim to create a stable and conducive environment for sustainable economic growth and investment.

In her remarks, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva appreciated concerted efforts of Pakistan in implementing policies and reforms to revive the economy.

She assured that the IMF remained committed to continued engagement with Pakistan.
