Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the record increase in remittances in the last fiscal year. In a statement, he mentioned that overseas Pakistanis sent a record 38.3 billion dollars in remittances during the fiscal year 2024-25.
According to Radio Pakistan, this figure represents an increase of eight billion dollars compared to the remittances received during the fiscal year 2023-24. He highlighted that this significant 26.6% increase is a highly encouraging development for the country.
The Prime Minister stated that the record increase in remittances reflects the valuable contributions of overseas Pakistanis and their trust in Pakistan’s economy. He emphasized that the recent positive economic indicators demonstrate the effectiveness and right direction of the government’s policies.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister reiterated the government’s strong commitment to move from economic stability toward sustainable economic growth, underscoring the importance of continued support from Pakistani expatriates.
