Islamabad: Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan has announced that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has secured a simple majority to form the government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to Radio Pakistan, Rana Sanaullah Khan, speaking at a news conference alongside Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam, stated that the PML-N has won twenty-three of the forty-five seats in the AJK Legislative Assembly elections. The party secured four out of seven seats in the Muzaffarabad Division, while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidates claimed three seats. On the twelve refugee seats, PML-N emerged victorious on ten, with the remaining two secured by PPP.
Rana Sanaullah Khan emphasized that the elections were conducted in a free and fair manner. Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam highlighted that the elections demonstrate the triumph of democracy in AJK. He assured that the commitments made with the people of AJK regarding progress and development of the territory will be fulfilled.
