POL and CNG prices jacked up – Alfalah Securities Limited

Karachi, August 23, 2012 (PPI-OT): The prices of petroleum products have been increased with effect from August 23, 2012 by the government.

According to Alfalah Securities Limited, oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has notified that the price of petrol has been increased by PKR 3.21 per litre, High Octane Blending Component (HOBC) by PKR 4.85 per litre, kerosene oil by PKR 3.52 per litre, diesel by PKR 4.40 per litre, and Light Diesel Oil (LDO) by PKR 3.19 per litre. After which the price of petrol has risen from PKR 93.57 to PKR 96.78 per litre, HOBC from PKR 120.16 to PKR 125.01 per litre, kerosene oil from PKR 92.83 to PKR 96.35 per litre, diesel from PKR 101.79 to PKR 106.19 per litre, LDO from PKR 90.11 to PKR 93.30 per litre.

Moreover, the rate of CNG for Region I, Potohar, Balochistan and KPK, has been raised by PKR 3.21 to PKR 88.61/kg while CNG price for Region II (Punjab and Sindh), has been increased by PKR 2.68 raising it to PKR 80.94/kg. The increase is made in line with the hike in international petroleum product prices however, the announcement was made with a delay after the Eid holidays to give the public some relief during the Eid period.
