Islamabad, January 11, 2013 (PPI-OT): President Asif Ali Zardari has felicitated President-elect Ms. Park Geun-hye of the Republic of Korea on her victory in the Presidential elections.
In his congratulatory message, the President said that her success in the election was a testimony of her leadership qualities and her political vision.
Recalling his visit to South Korea where he discussed a whole gamut of bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest with President Lee Myung-bak, the President recalled the commitment of the leadership to take existing relations to new heights and said that he looks forward to working closely with her to further expand and deepen the bilateral relations of the two countries in all spheres and carry forward the process of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Following is the text of President’s letter to Ms. Park Geun-hye, President-elect of the Republic of Korea.
“Excellency,
On behalf of the Government and the people of Pakistan, I would like to express my heartiest congratulations on your victory in the Presidential elections.
Your success in the elections is a testimony to your leadership qualities and your political vision. Being the first lady President of the Republic of Korea is in itself an achievement.
I visited South Korea earlier this month and met with President Lee Myung-bak. We discussed all issues of mutual interest and decided to take our relations to a new level.
I look forward to working closely with you to further expand and deepen the bilateral relations of our two countries in all spheres and carry forward the process of mutually beneficial cooperation.
