President Mamnoon Hussain inaugurated the Fauji Fertilizer Power Plant with a generation capacity of 118 megawatts at Port Qasim in Karachi on Monday.
Addressing a ceremony to mark the occasion, he said the coal-powered plant at Bin Qasim is an important addition to the public-private initiative against energy deficit and will help country overcome power shortage by next year.
With regard to China Pakistan Economic Corridor, he said the multi-pronged project once fully activated will propel the country towards exemplary political and economic heights.
The President reiterated that no change has been made in the route envisaged under the original CPEC plan.
