Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended their warmest felicitations to the officers, sailors, and civilians of Pakistan Navy on the occasion of Pakistan Navy Day: In their separate messages, they expressed confidence that Pakistan Navy will continue to uphold its proud traditions and discharge its responsibilities with courage, honor, and distinction.
According to Radio Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari highlighted the daring Pakistan Navy Operation SOMNATH against the heavily guarded Indian naval coastal station Dwarka during the night of September 7th and 8th, 1965. He noted that the operation was a demonstration of the bravery and tenacity of Pakistan Navy, laying the foundations of a formidable force committed to bolstering the country’s maritime defense.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that September 8th serves as an inspirational reminder of the nerve, valor, and grit demonstrated by Pakistan Navy during the 1965 war. He recalled that during Marka-e-Haq last year, Pakistan Navy showed the same spirit and operational preparedness that deterred a numerically superior enemy from undertaking any act of aggression at sea.
