President Zardari Meets Chinese NPC Chairman to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Beijing: President Asif Ali Zardari met with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, in Beijing, highlighting the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China. The leaders emphasized strategic trust and high-level exchanges to enhance cooperation.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the discussions focused on the development of CPEC 2.0, aiming to boost collaboration in science and technology, renewable energy, infrastructure, and agriculture. Both sides view CPEC as a model for people-centric development, prioritizing shared benefits and prosperity.

The meeting also explored ways to strengthen institutional connections, including parliamentary exchanges and participation in the CPEC Political Parties Joint Consultative Mechanism, to further solidify bilateral cooperation.
