Prime Minister Gilani chairs Parliamentary Party meeting of Pakistan People’s Party and allies

Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that it is our collective responsibility to strengthen the democratic institutions. He maintained that government believes in trichotomy of power and respects the mandate of all the institutions as envisaged in the Constitution.

The Prime Minister expressed these views while chairing combined Parliamentary Party meeting of PPP MNAs and allies (ANP, PML-Q, FATA, BNP-A, PML-F, NPP and independents) at Parliament House this afternoon.

The Prime Minister observed that Parliament, Executive and Judiciary are important pillars of the state. All these institutions, he added, should support each other for the greater national interests. Certain elements, he mentioned, are trying to create misunderstanding among these Institutions. The Prime Minister urged all the party members and the allies to avoid any kind of confrontation and focus on the strengthening of the democratic process.

All the members of the party and the allied parties reposed confidence in the vision of the Prime Minister. The meeting was co-chaired by Ch. Shujaat Hussain leader of PML (Q), Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour leader of ANP, Faisal Saleh Hayat, Engr. Shaukat Ullah representative of FATA.
