Prime Minister Gilani deeply grieved over Death of Senior Journalist

Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the tragic death of senior journalist Mr. Saleem Shahzad who was abducted yesterday and his dead body was recovered from Mandi Bahauddin.

The Prime Minister took strong note of the incident and ordered immediate inquiry into the kidnapping and murder of Saleem Shahzad. He assured that the culprits would be brought to book at every cost.

The present government, he said, strongly believes in the freedom of expression and considers freedom of media as an essential ingredient to strengthen democratic values and culture.

The Prime Minister expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to Almightily Allah to bless the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to the members of his family to bear this irreparable loss.
