Pro-Freedom Youth Mark Pakistan Independence Day with Demonstrations in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar: Despite heavy restrictions, pro-freedom groups in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir observed Pakistan Independence Day with public displays of support. Throughout the region, Pakistani flags were hoisted, and Indian flags were burnt as symbols of protest against New Delhi’s rule.

According to Kashmir Media Service, significant celebrations took place in various parts of the Kashmir Valley and Jammu region, including in districts such as Jammu, Rajouri, Doda, and Islamabad. Activists expressed their resistance to Indian control and their solidarity with Pakistan, which they view as a key supporter of their cause for self-determination. Tehreek-e-Khawateen Kashmir leader Ms. Hafza Bano held a notable function in Islamabad, emphasizing Pakistan’s role in advocating for Kashmiri rights on international platforms.

The celebrations were marked by prayers for peace and the prosperity of Pakistan, underscoring the belief that a stable and strong Pakistan is essential for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute. The participants also reiterated their hope for continued support from Pakistan in their struggle for freedom. Additionally, other Hurriyat parties and leaders in Srinagar aligned with these sentiments, preparing to observe Indian Independence Day as a Black Day, further demonstrating the ongoing tension and discontent within the region.
