Pakistan Marks 77th Independence Day with National Ceremonies and Patriotic Zeal

Islamabad: Pakistan is observing its 77th Independence Day with national pride, beginning with salutes in the capital and provincial headquarters and a series of patriotic ceremonies across the country.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the day commenced with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and a 21-gun salute in each provincial capital. The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, led the national flag hoisting ceremony at the Pakistan Monument, reflecting the country’s commitment to the ideals of the Pakistan Movement and its aspirations towards becoming a true Islamic welfare state.

Mosques throughout the nation held special prayers for the peace, solidarity, and prosperity of Pakistan. In Karachi, a change of guards ceremony took place at Mazar-e-Quaid, where cadets from the Pakistan Naval Academy took over ceremonial duties, showcasing military discipline and respect for the nation’s founders.

Streets across all cities are adorned with stalls offering national flags, badges, and other patriotic paraphernalia, contributing to the festive atmosphere. State broadcasters, Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television, are airing special programs that highlight the contributions of the heroes of the Pakistan Movement, paying tribute to their efforts in the creation of the nation.
