Muzaffarabad: A protest took place in Muzaffarabad organized by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Indian-administered region of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the protest saw a large turnout at the old secretariat in Muzaffarabad, where attendees chanted anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.
Demonstrators displayed black flags, burned tires, and carried banners declaring Modi as the “most disliked person in Kashmir.”
Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali addressed the gathering, criticizing Modi for allegedly turning the region into a military base. He claimed local lands are being destroyed for military infrastructure projects.
Vice Chairman Usman Ali Hashim accused Modi of misleading the global community regarding the situation in Kashmir and blamed his government for revoking the region’s autonomy in 2019.
Protests also spread to other areas, including Mirpur, Dhadial, Kotli, Bagh, and Neelam, with several local leaders spearheading the demonstrations.
