Punjab IG Attends Funeral of Martyred Constable, Vows Support for Families of Police Martyrs

Lahore, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, attended the funeral of Constable Ghulam Rasool, who was killed in Lahore. The ceremony saw the participation of senior military and police officials, demonstrating the deep respect and solidarity within the security forces.

According to Punjab Police, Constable Rasool was killed by an unidentified assailant while serving in the judicial wing. His funeral was marked by honors including a guard of honor. Dr. Anwar met with the deceased’s family, assuring them of ongoing support. The IG reaffirmed the police department’s commitment to the welfare of families of over 1,600 martyred officers and treatment for more than 1,700 injured in the line of duty.
