Punjab Youth Festival: Muhammad Shafiq wins 100, 200 meter races

Lahore, January 31, 2014 (PPI-OT): Muhammad Shafiq won the 100 and 200 meter races of the Punjab Youth Festival (PYF) 2014 athletics competitions at district level held here at the Punjab Stadium.

In the 100 meter race, Muhammad Shafiq won the first position, Ali Zaman earned second while Husnain Ali stood third. In 400 meter race, Muhammad Shafiq once again proved that he is the fastest runner and clinched the first position, Muhammad Ishaq won the second and Muhammad Haroon was at third.

The 800 meter fastest runner title went to Muhammad Ishaq while Muhammad Ali secured the second and Faisal Arshad got the third position. Long jump event was won by Asif Rao while Waqar Ahmad earned second position and Atif Suhail got the third one. At the last event, Atif Ali claimed the first position in the shot put event, Nadeem Akhtar won the second and Umair Aslam got the third position.
