Qaim Ali Shah pays surprise Visit to affected areas of city, police stations and trade centres

Karachi, June 28, 2012 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah today paid surprise visit of various areas of Karachi particularly the Pakistan chowk, Jamia cloth market, M.A Jinnah Road, Khaliqdina Hall, Light House, City Courts, Denso Hall, Boulton market, Merewether Tower, Sindh Madrasatul Islam and Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. While on his way, the Chief Minister Sindh came out of his vehicle and visited community Policing Chowki near Allahwala market M.A Jinnah road.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah inquired about law and order situation from traders and people in Jamia cloth market and Allahwala market complex. Chief Minister Sindh directed the SSP South to increase police force at chowki (picket) and directed that they should continue patrolling and checking process so as to eradicate the menace of bhattakhori from trade and commercial areas.

He also met with people there, who informed the Chief Minister Sindh that the trend of Bhatta Khori has decreased, yet there is still some persons indulged in Bhatta Khori who send perchies (chit) demanding money. The people said that the overall law and order situation has improved and law enforcement agencies be asked to make more efforts in this regard.

The people informed that due to loadshedding there is problem of water. Chief Minister Sindh asked the people to lodge complaints any crime so that police should take prompt action. Later, the Chief Minister Sindh visited Light house, and Boulton Market.

He came out of his vehicle and visited Mithadar Police Station and checked their FIR registers and other record. The SHO of Mithadar Aurangzeb informed that due to concerted efforts, the criminals and Bhattakhors are under strict watch and prompt action has been initiated against Bhatta Khors.

He informed that there are three mobiles and force and there are 70 banks in the area. Syed Qaim Ali Shah visited lock-up there where 4 persons were kept and were being interrogated. Out of them, one was target killer belonging to P.S Kharadar while the other three were arrested under section 54 belonging to P.S Mithadar. SHO informed about target killer and said that there is case of mis appropriation.

The SPO Kharadar Agha Asadullah informed that 100 constables have been provided from Sindh Reserve Police and there are 120 constables already with Police station. Chief Minister Sindh also met with traders, businessmen, and general public at Bolton market and enquired from them about law and order situation in economic hub of Pakistan – Karachi. Office bearers of small traders informed the Chief Minister Sindh that the law and order situation has rapidly changed due to concerted efforts of government and law enforcement agencies.

They said that there are some groups and elements who want to disturb the peace and engaged in shining their personal names, with political agenda. Chief Minister Sindh met the people one by one and shook hands with them.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Qaim Ali Shah strictly directed the Police, Rangers and Law enforcing agencies to further accelerate the efforts and menace of bhatkhori be eradicated with full force and prompt action be taken against those involved in target killings.

He further said that patrolling of even thinners streets of old city including thickly populated business centers of Jodia Bazar, Kaghzi Bazar, Napier Road, Kharadar, Denso hall etc so as to maintain law and order. Talking to people gathered at Bolton market, Chief Minister assured that all out efforts are being made to maintain peaceful atmosphere in Karachi particularly in old city.

People gathered there expressed their happiness that Chief Minister Sindh was amongst them and was inquiring their problems. Later, the Chief Minister Sindh visited areas of I.I Chundrigar Road and came back to Chief Minister House.
