Qaim directs Deputy Commissioners to make coordinated efforts for security of various agencies

Karachi, July 21, 2012 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed the Deputy Commissioners and other district officers of province to make coordinated and concerted efforts for the security of various agencies, NGO’s, Social welfare Organizations engaged in welfare of people while emphasis be made to provide full support to WHO,UNICEF , Rotary Club and other such agencies.

This he conveyed to the participants of a meeting, which was chaired by state Minister Madam Shahnaz Wazir Ali, Home Secretary Sindh Syed Sohail Akbar Shah, I.G Police Sindh Mr. Fayaz Leghari, Secretary Health Sindh Mr. Aftab Ahmed Khatri, Deputy Commissioner Malir Qazi Jan Muhammad , National Chairman, Pakistan Polio plus committee Mr. Aziz Memon , Ms. Rabia from UNICIEF, Dr. Altaf Basan, Dr. Ali Durray WHO and others.

The meeting was informed that Polio eradication campaign was held from July 16th to July 18th 2012 all over the country including Gadap Town of Karachi. The meeting was informed that Independent Monitoring Board on Global Polio Eradication has declared Gadap area as one of the sanctuaries which is spreading virus from one place to other areas of the country.

Home Secretary Sindh and I.G. Police Sindh informed the meeting that law enforcing agencies particularly the police has been directed to make fool proof arrangements for security of Gadap Centre and other teams engaged in Polio vaccination programme. It was informed that Rangers will be deputed for patrolling in UC-4 in Gadap . other matters were also discussed in the meeting
