Qaim underlines need to fulfill requirements to complete maximum development schemes in all sectors

Karachi, January 03, 2013 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah today presided a meeting of Planning and Development, and Finance Departments which reviewed the progress on various development schemes, held at Chief Minister House.

The meeting was attended among others by Additional Chief Secretary (P and D) Mr. Israr Malik; Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Mr. Arif Ahmed Khan; Principal Secretary to CM Mr. Muhammad Siddique Memon; Special Secretary (P and D) Dr. Noorul Haq; Special Secretary (Finance) Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Khan and others.

Chief Minister Sindh underlined the need to fulfill the requirements so as to complete the maximum development schemes in all sectors, upto the end of February 2013. Chief Minister Sindh directed the P and D and Finance Departments to have monitoring the progress of schemes in all spheres including under special packages and MPA’s development programs so that people could be benefited from those projects.

He stressed that executing agencies and implementing authorities / officers together with P and D and Finance Departments should pay full attention towards executing and implementing maximum number of under completion projects.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah directed that ongoing schemes MPA’s nearer for completion be completed early while the directives issued by him be implemented accordingly. He also directed allocation be made early for on-going schemes of MNAs’ so that the same be completed early.

He also directed the P and D and Finance Departments to provide upto date reports and details to Information Department so that brochures depicting 5-years performance and achievements are made public.

The Additional Chief Secretary (Dev.) Mr. Israr Malik informed that the total development outlay for the year 2012-13 is Rs. 231.00bn, while allocation is Rs. 181.00bn. It was further informed that so far Rs. 53.85 billion have been released and so far Rs: 23.57 billion have been spent while further works are in full swing and it is expected that maximum allocation for ADP will be spent.

The meeting was informed that maximum expenditure has been made in Education and Health sectors, Transport, Industries, Culture, Sports, Agriculture, Food, Livestock, Fisheries, Communication, Irrigation, Coal and Energy and housing sectors.

It was informed that during current financial year, out of allocated amount of Rs: 45222.000 million, an amount of Rs: 18670.000 million has so far been spent while Rs: 2190.767 million have been spent out of Rs: 7729.473 million releases MPA’s priority programme, it was further informed that under special packages programme, out of allocated amount of Rs: 10600.000 million, Rs: 835.927 million have so far been spent.

The meeting was further informed that under special initiatives (Water Hubs), Rs: 8561.420 million were allocated and so far there was expenditure of Rs: 2218.031 million and for information technology out of allocated amount off Rs: 4860.530 million, Rs: 208.605 million has so far been spent from released amount of Rs: 915.176 million.

The meeting was also informed that out of Rs: 3272.406 million, an amount of Rs: 714.750 million has been spent for special project. Syed Qaim Ali Shah directed the heads of nation buildings departments and executing agencies to complete the schemes as early as possible.
