Quetta Begins Issuance of Computerized Arms Licenses with Defined Fees and Renewal Periods

Quetta: In a significant move to modernize firearm regulation, Quetta has initiated the issuance of computerized arms licenses at the DC Office. This new system stipulates a fee structure based on regional coverage, with licenses costing 13,000 rupees for Balochistan and 16,000 rupees for all of Pakistan. The licenses will be valid for a period of five years, after which they require two renewals. Additionally, all previously issued manual licenses will be canceled and replaced by the new computerized format.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the transition to computerized licenses aims to streamline the process and enhance the security features of the documentation. This change is part of a broader effort to improve public safety and record-keeping related to firearm ownership.

The initiative reflects the local government’s commitment to enforcing stringent measures in arms control, while also adapting to technological advancements in administrative processes.
