Quetta Cracks Down on Absenteeism in Education Sector

Quetta: A District Education Group meeting led by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Quetta Muhammad Anwar Kakar focused on addressing the issue of absentee teachers and staff within the local education system. The session, attended by education officials, reviewed reports on ongoing issues affecting school operations, including absenteeism and construction projects.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, during the meeting, a comprehensive report detailing the names of teachers and staff continuously absent from their duties was presented, leading to a decision to issue show cause notices. Kakar emphasized that continued absenteeism could result in termination. He highlighted the critical impact of such absenteeism on children’s education, stating that the era of being paid without attending duties is over, and strict actions will be taken against those failing to meet their responsibilities.

Additionally, updates on the construction work in various schools were discussed, with Kakar urging that these projects be completed promptly and to a high standard. He also stressed the importance of enhancing facilities in schools to provide a conducive learning environment for students.
