Radio Pakistan’s News and Current Affairs Channel conducted special Azadi Show to mark the Independence Day celebrations.
Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Ali Zafar was chief guest at the cake cutting ceremony.
Director News and Current Affairs briefed the Minister about Independence Day programmes organized by the channel.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister lauded the efforts of Radio Pakistan in celebrating national days in a befitting manner. He said Radio Pakistan is playing a leading role in sensitizing the listeners about significance of Independence Day.
Special cake cutting ceremony was attended by a large number of staff members of Radio Pakistan. Director General Radio Pakistan Shafqat Jalil was also present on the occasion.
During the three-hour long Azadi Show, independence struggle was highlighted with focus Quaid-i-Azam’s untiring efforts for creation of a separate homeland for Muslims of the Subcontinent.
A music band played live national and patriotic songs and enthralled the listeners.
