Islamabad: Senior Superintendent of Police Islamabad Muhammad You Malik has directed the police officials to take effective steps to control crime in the city and ensure arrest of proclaimed offender and other criminals at earliest involved in crimes of heinous nature and are still at large.
He stated this while addressing the crime meeting here held to review the progress of various zones and police station. The meeting was attended by SP Saddar Sajid Kiani, SP City Muhammad Ilyas, SP Industrial Area Ishaq Warraich, SP Rural Faisal Bashir Memon, SP Investigation Ch. Liaqat Ali, SP Legal Javed Iqbal Khattak, all Sub-Divisional Police Officers, In-Charge CIA, In-Charge ACLC and Station House Officers.
The SSP said that an effective strategy is vital to control crime and also ordered to adopt a professional as well as responsible attitude to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
He said that IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan has categorically asked to focus on resolving the public complaints, control car theft incidents in the city and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to citizens.
The SSP said that he will not tolerate corruption and to purge those police officials from the force involved in corrupt practices. He also directed all police officials performing duties at police stations to improve their performance and address the grievances of the masses on immediate basis following the merit to win the confidence and support of the people for the cops’ department.
He stressed for speedy disposal of cases, investigation purely on merit and earliest arrest of criminals involved in various crime cases.
“Policing is a service oriented job and every police official must serve the humanity with devotion,” the SSP maintained. M. Yousuf Malik said that FIRs must be registered at police stations on merit and without any delay and inconvenience to the citizens.
He also directed police officials for strict monitoring of the sluggish and corrupt cops and inform high ups for their involvement in any kind of such activities.
He asked all the supervisory officers of police stations to ensure discipline in policing affairs, completion of investigation of various cases in a transparent way and also visit the crime scene in case of any mishap in their jurisdiction.
Muhammad Yousuf Malik also directed the police officials to brief their staff at the police pickets and keep them alert to avoid any untoward incident. He ordered to ensure efficient and effective patrolling to control crime and asked In-Charge ACLC Altaf Aziz Khattak to curb vehicles theft.
The SSP asked to monitor the activities of those car thieves who had remained jail birds and bust the gangs involved in car theft incidents.
He directed SPs of all Zones to personally pursue the progress on the complaints and ensure steps for immediate solution to the problems of the people by remaining personally in touch with them.
The SSP said that Islamabad Police is determined to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and no stone will be leave unturned to accomplish this responsibility.
