Rights bodies urged to visit IOK jails

Srinagar, May 15, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has criticized India for not allowing the International Committee of Red Cross, Amnesty International and other human rights organizations to visit the Indian jails to observe for themselves the pathetic condition of Kashmiri political prisoners.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar asked India to shun its stubbornness and appealed to two nuclear countries, Pakistan and India, to turn a new leaf in their bilateral relations to sit together along with the people of Kashmir and resolve Kashmir issue peacefully in accordance with the wishe and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Lamenting on the plight of Kashmiri prisoners at the hands of barbaric jail authorities in IOK, APHC chairman demanded early release of Kashmiri prisoners languishing in jails.
