Russian envoy calls on Federal Minister for Science and Technology

Islamabad, December 06, 2012 (PPI-OT): H.E Mr. Andary Budnik ambassador of Russian called on Federal Minister for Science and Technology Mir Changez Khan Jamali. They discussed mutual interests of cooperation between the two countries. The Federal Minister said that Russia has a rich heritage in the field of Science and Technology and wished that the people of Pakistan may get benefit from it. He also said that memorandum of understanding (MOU) in the field of Science and Technology between the two countries was in final stages and it would be approved from the cabinet very soon.

The Federal Minister said that linkages between the two countries at the institutional level may be increased and people to people contact in the field of Science and Technology may be enhanced. Russian ambassador said that cooperation with Pakistan is going on in the cultural, science and Technology and education sectors.

In the meeting they agreed that a seminar may be organized to work out the areas where maximum cooperation in the field of Science and Technology is needed .They also agreed to focus on university to university level contact where research and development projects and student exchange programme in the field of Science and technology may be initiated to bring both the countries closer and make people of Pakistan get benefit from the advanced technologies of Russia.

Mr. Akhlaq Ahmad Tarar Secretary Minister of Science and Technology, Manzoor H Somroo Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation, Mr. Khalid, Director General, Pakistan Council for Renewable Technology were also present at the occasion.
