Sabir Baloch stresses for closer cooperation between Pakistan and China

Islamabad, October 29, 2012 (PPI-OT): Acting chairman Senate Sabir Ali Baloch has said that unique relationship between Pakistan and China steeped in the spirit of brotherhood, affinity and mutual respect, which finds few comparables in the history of exemplary diplomatic and bilateral relations between any two states of the world.

He expressed these views while addressing a reception in honor of the 6-member Parliamenty delegation led by Zhao Qizheng, Chiarman Foreign Affairs Committee and member of the standing committee of the Chises people’s Political consultative conference.

He said that the visit is a commendable gesture of goodwill and a significant milestone in our common and constant endeavour to augment the bond of friendship and cooperation that binds our two countries in a perennial kinship.

“Our complete trust in each other, mutual understanding and convergence of views on bilateral, regional and international issues, has lent extra depth to our already strong cordial ties” , Sabir baloch added. He further observed that this all-weather friendship and all-round cooperation has withstood the test of time, unaffected by vicissitudes in the international, regional and domestic environments.

He remarked that Pakistan attaches great importance to China, and is desirous of adding more value, depth and substance to bilateral relations. Augmenting friendly relations between our two countries, therefore, is one of the prime objectives of our foreign policy, Senator Sabir said.

He said that marked by close cooperation in many areas, especially educational, economic, energy, communication, trade and commerce, and defence sectors to name but a few, this equation of trust and partnership continues to add more value, depth and substance to our bilateral relations.

He emphasized that the Pak-China relations have now entered a new phase, saying that Going beyond bilateralism, regionalism and long-term collaboration, our relations have now acquired broad regional and international implications.

He observed that time has now come to transfer the exemplary friendship between Pakistan and China to future generations. In order to confront the multi-faceted common challenges our two countries are facing, including terrorism, peace and security, we must take forward our historical linkages into the future by developing a more multi-layered and a mutually beneficial bilateral relationship.

He underlined need for endeavors to further mutually beneficial socio-economic uplift agenda which in turn, would not only promote regional stability, but also goad prosperity.

The reception was attended by Senators, government functionaries and media persons.

Leader of the delegation also expressed his views on the occasion and expressed his statisftion over the visit.
