SC verdict had exposed India’s double standards: Prof Butt

Srinagar, February 20, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt while reacting to recent verdict of the Indian Supreme Court on Rajiv Gandhi’s Killers, said that the verdict had exposed the double standards of India. Addressing his party leaders and activists in Srinagar, Professor Butt said that hanging of Muhammad Afzal Guru and relief to killers of Rajiv Gandhi had clearly indicated that the people of Kashmir were subjected to the worst kind of discrimination.

He maintained that India was using totally different laws for Kashmir just to curb the people’s peaceful struggle for Kashmir settlement. Prof Butt the verdict should be eye opener for those who have blind faith in Indian democracy.

He said that by these double standards India had itself accepted the disputed nature of Kashmir as it was because of the Kashmir conflict India was using totally different laws for Kashmir just to curb the people’s peaceful struggle for Kashmir resolution.
