Secretary SHME Starts Tree Plantation Campaign

Lahore, August 15, 2020 (PPI-OT): Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Barrister Nabeel Awan formally started the Green and Pakistan campaign by planting a tree on Independence Day at his office here on Friday. Present on the occasion were Additional Secretary Admin Amir Ghazi and other senior officials of the department. After planting the tree, the Secretary SHME led formal prayer on the occasion as well. The Secretary SHME Department said that tree plantation campaign in the department has been initiated on directions from the Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid.

He said the purpose of the plantation inside the office premises is to provide clean and green environment to staff and visitors in the office. The Secretary SHME said, “All Teaching Hospitals have been directed to start tree plantation campaign in their premises and the Hospitals have been asked to make this campaign successful. The tree plantation will help reduce air pollution. A clean environment is integral to a healthy and disease free society. Let us make a resolve on Independence Day to keep our environment clean. Our Teaching Hospitals have played key role on treatment of Corona patients.”
