Sehrai terms IOK political situation as highly volatile

Srinagar, April 19, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir (TeH), Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has condemned the use of repressive measures by the Indian forces on the peaceful protest marches organised by the freedom-loving people of the territory.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement in Srinagar termed the current political situation in the territory as highly volatile and gruesome. He said that the Indian forces were using all kinds of repressive measures to quell the peaceful protests being organized by the people to press the demand for their right to self-determination.

The TeH Chairman said that young students, both males and females, faced a war-like situation in Islamabad town and other areas of the occupied territory when the men in uniform resorted, without any provocation, to teargas shelling and cane-charge, causing injuries to dozens of innocent students.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai hailed the high spirits and moral and courage of the people of occupied Kashmir especially the young generation. He maintained that the unbending resolve and invincible commitment for the sacred goal of freedom demonstrated by the Kashmiris despite the atrocities of the Indian forces had created a matchless history in the contemporary world.

The TeH Chairman while expressing his utmost satisfaction on the positive role played by the young generation of occupied Kashmir categorically said that in the world history no movement that had been launched by the people with conviction and firm faith in their cherished goal could be defeated by the imperialistic and aggressive forces.

He urged the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of the gross human rights violations being perpetrated by the Indian troops in occupied Kashmir. Meanwhile, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, in a statement in Srinagar while condemning the use of brute force on students by the Indian forces termed it the worst kind of state terrorism.
