Rawalakot: The Institute of Multi-Track Diplomacy, Dialogue, and Development Studies, in partnership with the University of Poonch, recently held a seminar to critically examine the abrogation of Article 370 and its implications on Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the seminar titled “The Kashmir Dispute: Deconstructing India’s Illegal Strategy on the Abrogation of Article 370” convened scholars, students, and community members to delve into the nuances of this significant legal and political change.
Dr. Waleed Rasool, a prominent expert, delivered the keynote address, discussing the abrogation as an act of aggression and its breach of international norms. He called for international support to restore Kashmir’s special status and ensure the protection of its human rights. Additional insights were provided by Dr. Raouf and Dr. Jawad Zareen, who expanded on the geopolitical context and the vital role of academia and civil society in advocating for Kashmir.
The event concluded with the university administration expressing gratitude to the participants and reaffirming its dedication to fostering ongoing discussions and understanding about the Kashmir conflict through future seminars.
