Srinagar, May 08, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Kashmir Center for Social and Development Studies (KCSDS) and High Court Bar Association (HCBA) said that setting up of separate soldier colonies for retired Indian army men and settling homeless non-locals in the territory aimed at changing the demography of Kashmir.
The Chairperson of KCSDS, Professor Hameeda Nayeem addressing a joint press conference with the HCBA President, Mian Qayoom in Srinagar said that the plan was a direct attack on special status of Kashmir, asking people to stand against ill designs of New Delhi.
The KCSDS and High Court Bar Association warned the authorities in strongest terms against the implementation of the illegitimate plans aimed at legitimizing the illegal settlements. “We warn this Government to stop the implementation of the conspiratorial proposals meant to hurt Kashmiris and change demographics of the State,” she said.
Mian Qayoom addressing on the occasion, opposing the plan, said: “This is the worst kind of aggression by the Government of India and its puppet administration in the territory and it is time for people of Kashmir to stand up against their sinister designs.”
He said the soldier colony and the houses for homeless was a plan to settle outsiders in the territory. “They are pushing non-state subjects into our territory and we fear they will settle them in these settlements,” he deplored.
