Establishment of separate colonies in IOK opposed

Srinagar, May 08, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the pro-freedom leaders and organizations have opposed the establishment of soldier colonies and separate zones for Pandits terming it a conspiracy to change the demography of Kashmir. APHC leader and the Jammu and Kashmir National Front Chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan in a statement issued in Srinagar said the proposed colonies were a part of New Delhi’s wicked plan to create a state within the state.

He said: “Such colonies and zones are sure to be used for settling non-locals and create misunderstandings between the people of Kashmir on communal basis. Such colonies and separate zones will be opposed tooth and nail to save hundreds of years old harmony between Muslims and non Muslims in the territory.

The Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi in her statement in Srinagar, opposing the plan, said that New Delhi had no right or justification to settle its ex-soldiers permanently in the territory. She also urged the Hurriyet leadership to frame a strategy to counter the move. “Delhi must not succeed in implementing its designs against the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The pro-resistance leadership has to develop a fool-proof strategy against this dangerous and evil plot,” she maintained.

“From the very beginning, we have maintained that Delhi seeks suggestions from Israel and its intelligence agency Mossad when it comes to framing of policies against the resistance movement in Jammu and Kashmir. Creation of the residential clusters for ex-soldiers is an extension to the nefarious nexus between these two countries,” she said.

The Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir in a statement in Srinagar termed the plan as a sinister design to weaken the demographic character of Kashmir. It said that the plan was also an attempt to harm the disputed character of Jammu and Kashmir under the UN resolutions.

The Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM) General Secretary, Muhammad Maqbool Butt in a statement in Srinagar said the proposed plan to set up soldier colonies in Kashmir would be opposed at all costs. “The people of Kashmir will never allow implementation of such plans”, he added.
