UNESCO Chief Condemns Killing of Mexican Journalist Roberto Figueroa

Paris, UNESCO Director-General has publicly condemned the killing of Roberto Figueroa, a local journalist and producer in Mexico, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to journalist safety and the fight against impunity.

According to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Figueroa, known for his work on corruption topics through his show “Acá en el show,” was kidnapped and later found deceased in his vehicle. UNESCO continues to promote the safety of journalists globally through awareness, capacity building, and implementing the UN Plan of Action on the Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity.
