Shabbir wants to counter anti-freedom move collectively

Srinagar, August 04, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior Hurriyet leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah has said that the consultations with civil society groups are vital to counter any such move that could communalize Kashmir.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said the attempts were being made to give the ongoing freedom struggle a communal colour and show the world that the people of Kashmir were perusing their just cause with the communal mindset.

“The fact of the matter is that starting any new pilgrimage at Kounsar Nag could engender Kashmir ecologically and also on the demographical grounds,” he warned.

He stressed the need for evolving consensus between all the likeminded groups to counter any move that could endanger Kashmir’s ecology.

“We will also hold serious deliberations with Kashmir’s civil society over the issue to come up with the detailed report on the Kounsarnag controversy.”
